Of Broken Smiles & Hopeful Tomorrows

It was a night
like any other night.
The concrete road
turned black
Firefly lights
held by upright posts
illuminating little corners
with flaming apathy.

I stood outside
my dusty terrace
in awe and
in dismay
for this was a night
like any other night.

The crackles of modernity
is few now
than in morning,
but you still do not hear
nature's passion--
not anymore.

From the ear of my mind,
I hear the muted beating
of my heart.
Like patterned thuds
of drums by the fingers
of desire.

As i was about
to go back inside my room
to sulk in learned helplessness,
upon my fourth trudge,
i saw the sky
begotten a broken smile.

The moon in a queer smile,
scintillating in hopefulness
waiting for the day
that it'll meet
its source of light.

I hear the muted beating
of my heart,
the silenced moans and
untrickled tears
hidden just inches beneath
the hoping of tomorrow--
A tomorrow with you..

Then i will myself
to sleep.

  1. Before, my claim of fame is that every poem you make is for me...
Yet, just realize when you want us to be over and done...it would never be about me anymore...
I still manage to smile reading your poem, they speak to me as if it was for me...deeply I know, it would never be me anymore...^_^
Keep Up the Good Work...Hope to be hearing from you, soon!
    Take care...regards me to mimo...
    Until next time..GoodBye!^_^
