Silent Echoes

the incessant night
ever so dark
failed to hide
a secret love affair
not that it's hiding
from someone or something
nor are they loath--
they be seen together
more none than so
for gravity repels
and shatters
their vagary of togetherness
one reaches the other
amidst the oppugn
while one sheds a tear
of hopelessness
from the veracity and candor
of reality
the star, the moon
a mirage of a love affair
failed to be hidden
by the incessant night
a million lightyears
is as close as they get
a sad awaken
of what is real--
but should it be?

ever so consuming
